A pair of Spokane Police Officers rescued a man from a ledge Tuesday when they just happened to notice him on the Monroe Street Bridge.
The veteran officers were driving by the bridge when they noticed the man standing on the foot-wide ledge. Captain Dave Richards and Corporal Bill Hager leaped right into action.
They strategized how to bring the man down to safety before things took a turn for the worse.
Together, Richards and Hager shared a wealth of experience dealing with intense situations, but credited their recent crisis intervention classes for this heroic act.
The officers both said they joined the police force to be there for people in need, like the man they rescued Tuesday. The man would recieve medical attention.
