Spokane native Steve Gleason got his start in football at Gonzaga Prep and played at WSU before joining the NFL.  In 2011, he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).  Never a quitter, Steve started Team Gleason to raise awareness for ALS and support the people and families afflicted.  One of the many awesome fundraising events that Steve pioneered is Gleason Fest, an all-day indie music festival that's entering its third year.  On Saturday, August 23rd, the intersection of Division & Main in downtown Spokane will be blocked-off for a day of local and regional bands from 2pm to 11pm.  This Sunday at 10pm, Team Gleason member Jimmy Ramirez will join Gleason Fest organizer John Blakesley and his band Hey! Is For Horses for some chat, a few live-in-the-studio songs, and various album tracks from other Gleason Fest artists in the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge.
