Marshall McLean got his creative start writing poetry, later adding the acoustic guitar to his expression. He writes songs giving careful thought to how the meaning translates to the lyrics: poignant, yet poetic, sung with a clear voice and augmented by intricate, finger-picked guitar. Alongside his solo project he also performs with recent Local Lounge guests The Horse Thieves. With his new CD "A Time for Everything" nearing its release, we will soon hear a collection of songs recorded with backing from various A-list musicians and technicians. One of the backing vocalists on the CD is Raul Malo, for whom Marshall will be opening at The Bing Crosby Theater on Thursday, April 7th, at 7pm, which will also serve as a "soft release" for his new CD, as a few early copies will be available. To give a preview of his new CD and live set, Marshall McLean came by the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge this past Sunday.
