Spokane County continues to see a rise in positive COVID-19 cases.
With 63 more cases the total rises 1,730. The spike hasn't added too many hospitalizations, as 18 patients are currently being treated for the coronavirus.
The COVID-19 related death toll remains at 39 in the county.
Spokane County has seen over 500 new cases in an eight-day span.
Spokane County Health Officer Dr. Bob Lutz says things like increased contact tracing, relaxing of testing criteria, increased testing accessibility and continued community spread are factors in the recent rise in positive cases.
