Gov. Inslee Declares State of Emergency to Combat Wildfires

Washington governor Jay Inslee is declaring a state of emergency to help combat wildfires in Central and Eastern Washington.

The move will help ensure immediate response to the multiple wildfires.

Resources for firefighting throughout Washington have are limited due to commitments to pre-existing and projected fire activity, and this current emergency is compounded by extreme high temperatures and dry weather, as well as the increase of visitors to wilderness areas.

The order remains in effect until September 30th at 11:59 p.m.
