Jennifer Lopez & Shakira To Co-Headline 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Who's ready to see J. Lo and Shakira own the Super Bowl halftime show stage?!?!

On Thursday (September 26), the legendary artists announced that they are set to perform America's most famous halftime show as a duo at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium on February 2, 2020. "Going to set the world on 🔥🔥🔥 @shakira #PepsiHalftime #SuperBowlLIV @pepsi," Jennifer captioned a stunning promo photo of her and Shakira.

Shakira also shared the same promo picture to Instagram, which she captioned: "It doesn’t get any bigger than this! So excited about getting on that #SuperBowlLIV #PepsiHalftime stage! 🤩🔥 @jlo #nosvemosMiami #happybirthdaytomeee."

Pepsi's vice president of marketing Todd Kaplan promised an unforgettable show, saying in a statement: "These two remarkable artists are setting a new precedent for what this show can become, and we're confident that this will be an incredible performance for the ages."

Jennifer has been downplaying Super Bowl performance rumors for months. Back in July, Entertainment Tonight asked the 40-year-old entertainer if she was in talks to take the Miami stage in February given her close ties to the city — she and her fiancé Alex Rodriguez own a home there and she was once a part-owner of the Miami Dolphins. However, she coyly responded, "Yeah, I've thought about the Super Bowl and it’s in Miami. It’s a big deal, but we’ll see. They make their own decisions over there."

Jay-Z's Roc Nation is co-producing the halftime show. Back in August, the rapper/business mogul and his entertainment and sports company announced their multi-tiered partnership with the professional American football league. Roc Nation now serves as the football league's "live music entertainment strategist," meaning the company and Jay-Z consult on entertainment, including the Super Bowl halftime show, the creation of podcasts, visual albums, other events, and concerts.

Jennifer and Shakira have huge shoes to fill (and they most certainly will) given the legendary artists that have taken the stage before them including, Beyonce, Prince, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and more.
