Washington governor Jay Inslee is coming to town on Thursday.
Inslee announced on Wednesday he will travel inland to meet with local leaders in government, health care and business to discuss COVID-19 response and recovery.
KHQ reports the governor plans to attend a panel with front line and essential workers, followed by a meeting with hospital and medical system leaders.
Inslee is also scheduled to meet with elected and public health officials.
A visit was being considered after Spokane County experienced a record, 56, coronavirus cases on Tuesday. That spike pushed the total number of cumulative cases past 1,000 in the county since its first case back on March 15th.
Inslee announced earlier this week that wearing a mask in public will be required in Washington state.
