First Giant "Murder" Hornet Trapped in Washington

We have our first trapped Giant Asian hornet.

Washington officials say they have trapped the first male Giant Asian "Murder" Hornet.

The male hornet was caught in a Washington Department of Agriculture bottle trap near Custer in Whatcom County. A mated queen had been found dead earlier this year.

The WSDA has 1,400 live traps in the area in hopes of catching a live hornet. They want to tag it and track it back to its nest so officials can destroy the nest.
