The Spokane County Board of Health asked Spokane County Health Officer Dr. Bob Lutz to resign effective immediately.
KHQ reports it received an e-mail to the Spokane Regional Health District staff announcing the departure of Dr. Lutz.
"Yesterday, October 29 was Bob Lutz's last day at the Health District."
The board says it made the decision during an executive session meeting this month.
Dr. Lutz has served as the Spokane County Health Officer since 2008.
The department says they are working to figure out additional emails.
He has been a key face and voice for the County since the beginning of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
