Ride for Alice

Ride for ALICE | United Way of Kootenai County

The favorite loop of many local motorcyclists, the ride will head out I-90, south on highway 3 past Rose Lake and back up highway 97 through Harrison to Curley's Hauser Junction.

I-90 will be under construction, but the surface is good and has just been down to one lane in spots and only slows traffic to about 55. Highway 3 is a beautiful sweeping road with gas stops right off I-90 and another about half-way down. Since we're going clockwise, merging onto highway 97 will be fairly simple with a right turn and not much traffic. Coming up highway 97 will take you to Harrison where you can hop off the bike and stretch your legs.

Heading out of Harrison is where the fun begins! Be safe and enjoy the curves along the Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic Byway. After the twisty turns, head back on I-90 to Curley's Hauser Junction (they recommend using the Pleasant View Drive exit in Post Falls).

Funds raised will help low income families by improving the accessibility and quality of affordable child care. Our ALICE Project uncovered the fact that child care is the most expensive item on a family of four's monthly budget, higher than food or shelter. Low income families are frequently forced to choose sub-standard or unlicensed care for their children. We're working with Panhandle Health District to ensure more families have access to quality care by improving the quality of all child care centers, without increasing costs. Help us raise awareness and funds for ALICE families in our community and enjoy a great ride at the same time!

Registration is just $20 per person and includes coffee at check-in, a commemorative gift, and lunch from Caruso's. There will be an early departure for those who would like a little extra time to enjoy the scenery or stop in Harrison for another cup of coffee or hit the antique stores. Final kickstands up time will be 9:30am. Full details will be emailed to registered participants on Thursday, August 3rd, so be sure to sign up soon!
