Bloomsday Info!

Check-in for this years Bloomsday Run was open until 6:30 pm Saturday. If you didn't get a chance to make it down to the convention center today to register for Bloomsday you're out of luck. Late registration ended Saturday evening at 6:30 pm.

For those who traveled from out-of-town runners only you can pick up your packets tomorrow morning between 6;30 and 9 at Exhibit Hall A, 334 W.  Spokane Falls Blvd. The race will start tomorrow morning at 9 am and the course closes at 1:30 pm.

Security this year is tight, and that's including the start and finish areas for registered runners only, and there's a restriction on backpacks. Certain types of small fanny packs are acceptable. No opaque or solid fabric backpacks will be permitted at the start area of the course or within the finish line area. Clear plastic bags and clear plastic string bags are allowed. And only clear water bottles are permitted. For spectators and participants.

Streets in downtown Spokane will begin to close around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday and will reopen at around 2 pm Sunday afternoon.

Organizers are urging people to carpool to ease congestion so Durham School  Services will provide free shuttle bus service from the Spokane arena to the convention center. Parking at the Spokane arena is seven dollars.  The STA will have it's popular shuttle up and running pick up and drop off will be on 1st Ave between Post and Stevens.
