Catch two 70s/80s culture powerhouses when Michael McDonald and Chaka Khan play on hot night of R&B, soul, pop, rock and disco under the stars at Northern Quest on Tuesday, July 23. Show time is 7:30. Ticket prices are $49/$59/$79/$99 and go on sale Friday, February 8th at 9 am.
Michael McDonald:
A man of immense talent and musical wit, Michael McDonald is a songwriter, singer, keyboardist, and producer with a resume to sustain his incredibly successful career. After a start in the 1970s with the group Steely Dan, and quickly joining the Doobie Brothers, McDonald received his first Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1979 with the band for their hit “What A Fool Believes.” The rest is history. After almost 50 years in the industry, McDonald won five Grammy Awards, produced 14 solo albums and reached the top 10 Billboard chart multiple times, among many other accolades.
Chaka Khan:
Joining McDonald is a Chaka Khan, a singer Aretha Franklin once described as a “one-of-a-kind, premier vocalist.” A history in the musical industry unlike many others, Khan has released 22 albums, reached #1 on the Billboard charts ten times, produced seven RIAA certified gold singles and ten RIAA certified gold and platinum albums. Khan’s remarkable career is highlighted with 10 Grammy Awards spanning her 50-year musical legacy. Favorites “I’m Every Woman,” “I Feel For You,” “This Is The Night,” and “Through The Night” are just a small part of her influence across multiple musical genres. Aside from her work as an artist, Khan is a proud philanthropist and received the McDonald Corporation’s 365Black Award in 2012 to celebrate her work advocating for women and children at risk through her Chaka Khan Foundation.
Tickets go on sale Friday, February 8, 2019, with prices starting at $49.
