Even though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have had to cancel Archie's first birthday party due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but the proud parents reportedly still plan to celebrate their son's first birthday in a special way. A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told The Sunday Times that they plan to release a new photo of Archie to mark his birthday. Since Harry and Meghan have shuttered their official @SussexRoyal Instagram account, it's unclear where and when they'll share the photo of Archie.
Since Archie's birth on May 6, 2018, Harry and Meghan have only shared a few photos of Archie with the public. In addition to his a debut shortly after he was born, Harry and Meghan brought Archie on an official engagement while on their tour of South Africa. They also released a new photo of Archie to mark the start of the new year. Unofficially, Archie has been spotted out and about with his mom on a few occasions, as well.
Not only will this new photo of Archie commemorate his first birthday, it may also give the public a peak inside the Sussex family's new life in Los Angeles. While Archie was born in London, he's been living in Canada and the United States late 2019. In all likelihood, the photo will be a relatively new portrait of Archie. This means it will have been taken either in Canada or the United States.
Though there was plenty of drama surrounding Meghan and Harry's decision to step down from their roles in the Royal Family, they're reportedly focusing on Archie and their new life in Los Angeles. "Archie is the priority," a source told People back in February. "It's very much still about taking care of him and putting the family first. He’s a happy kid—he loves to laugh. Archie and Harry have such a good time together. And Meghan is a great mom. She's very much about tending to him. They are trying to live their life as regular parents."
