Christina Applegate is calling out all the "real sick" people who have mocked the wildfires that have ravaged Los Angeles over the past week.
The Dead to Me star didn't hold back on her thoughts of the apathy some people are showing toward the fires that have devastated L.A., leaving homes and businesses leveled and at least two dozen people dead, simply because celebrities also live there, per People.
On the January 14 episode of her MeSy podcast, Applegate explained how she and her 13-year-old daughter Sadie were on "constant alert" to see if they would have to evacuate their home again amid the ongoing fires. When co-host and pal Jamie-Lynn Sigler said "there's not really words" for the horrifying blaze, Applegate quickly chimed in with her own two cents on the matter.
"You know what I have words for? F------ people who are saying that it's, you know, good. It's Hollywood and those stupid Hollywood people. Like, you've gotta be kidding me," she said, adding that despite what some critics may think, Los Angeles is home to more than just celebrities. "We're a small portion of the city. I mean, this is a city of people that are working their asses off at fast food chains, or you know, f------ builders and painters, and it's a myriad of groups of humans here, so to say good riddance is real sick, and I'm not liking that whatsoever."
While Sigler encouraged Applegate to "tune out" the negative comments, the Married... with Children star agreed, simply saying, "I've tuned it out because they're ridiculous, but I'm calling them out right now."
Sigler also noted that Los Angeles is full of people "there for big dreams" who "work their f---ing asses off," celebrity or not.
"And sure. Is there a group of people that have been affected that will have the ability to rebuild their lives? I wouldn't say easily, but soon? Yes," she said. "And are there thousands of other people that literally have no idea where they will begin? Yes. And we have to hold both of them in our hearts."
