On this day in 1944, the Cincinnati Reds did something absolutely insane… They put 15-year-old kid on the mound in a Major League Baseball game.
That kid’s name? Joe Nuxhall… And while most 15-year-olds were busy reading comic books & discovering armpit hair… Joe was striking-out grown men & setting MLB records. (He ALSO walked 5 batters & gave up 5 runs in less than an inning… but hey— puberty is hard.)
Still, he’s the youngest Major League Baseball player EVER
