Here's today's feel-good story:
Jason Schweitzer first met Emilia at a Toronto KFC store when he was just five years old and became fast friends. Jason would see her each week when he and his mom stopped in for a weekly Sunday meal.
“When you grow up, and you recognize a face, it becomes a part of your mind-space,” Jason said. “I would always ask my mom ‘Is the funny lady there? Is the funny lady there?’ [Emilia] would always hook me up with some French fries. She was always very kind and she was always very funny.”
Jason wanted to come up with a plan to help his friend during the pandemic and started a GoFundMe to help her pay for transportation, rent, PPE, and other necessities. He wanted Emilia to “continue being an amazing person.”
As of today, the GoFundMe has raised over $25,000 and counting!
