Happy National American Teddy Bear Day! There's nothing more comforting to a child than a nice stuffed teddy bear! Today we celebrate and show appreciation for the icon that the bear has become in American culture. Teddy bears first got their name in the early 1900s when then President Theodore Roosevelt went on a hunting trip and captured a small bear cub. They said it would be unsportsmanlike to kill the little bear, and the story spread!
