There's been some scrutiny of the Christmas Classic "Baby, It's Cold Outside" in recent years due to it's subject in relation to the #MeToo movement. Lyrics like, "Say, what's in this drink?" and the general theme of a woman being pressured to stay has led to some backlash.
In light of this, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend decided to redo the classic with lyrics they feel better fit the current climate.
I, just FYI, am of the opinion if you like the original that's perfectly fine. If you enjoy this new version that is also just fine. I do, however, feel the new version is a little unnecessary. With lyrics like "Your driver's name is Murray," and, "Wait, What are you still livin' home for?" it comes off as more of a parody than a true update.
