Are You Harboring a Fugitive?

May is Amnesty Month at SCRAPS!

All month long SCRAPS will waive the late fees for your dog or cat when you purchase a license.  Wait a minute?  Did you just say cat?  That’s right.  Many cat caretakers don’t know it, but it’s the law for you to have your dog AND cat licensed. More importantly, having your cat licensed and microchipped is the best way to make sure you get your cat back.

Nearly 6,000 cats come into SCRAPS each year.  Of those, only 3% get back to their owners because for some reason cat people just don’t license, microchip or use any form of identification for their feline friends.  Your cat can and will get out of your house at some time or another so why not take the precaution of having them licensed and chipped.  It’s simple, inexpensive and the purr-fect way to show how much you care.

You can get your cat licensed for $18 at the SCRAPS Wellness Wednesday Clinic.  It’s every Wednesday from 2 – 5 p.m. here at SCRAPS.  No exam fee, no appointment needed – just show up with your ID and pet.
