Trevor Phillips is the kind of person who can turn trash into treasure—literally. One day, he came across a dumpster filled with flowers, many of them still alive and beautiful. While most of us might have walked past, Trevor mentioned it to a neighbor, who casually suggested, “You should take them to a nursing home.” That one idea changed everything.
Armed with a handful of salvaged bouquets, Trevor made his first visit to a senior living facility. The joy on the residents' faces was immediate and unforgettable. Word spread, and soon, a local florist offered to let him take their unsold flowers. From there, Trevor’s small act of kindness blossomed into something much bigger.
Today, Trevor runs Flower the People, a grassroots organization that delivers fresh flowers to over 40 senior living facilities across three cities. Florists and volunteers have joined the cause, helping to brighten the days of seniors who may not often receive visitors.
For Trevor, the impact goes both ways. He says that every time he returns from a delivery, he’s reminded of what truly matters in life: spreading joy, connection, and a little bit of beauty.
